Privacy Policy

The short version

Your images are converted inside your own browser. They are never uploaded to us, never stored by us, and never transmitted to any third party. We have no copy of any file you convert, because no copy is ever sent.

1. Who we are

WebP Converter operates webpconvert.cloud. For any privacy question, write to hello@webpconvert.cloud.

2. Your images and files

The converter is implemented entirely in client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you add a file, the browser reads it into the memory of that tab, decodes it, re-encodes it in the format you chose, and offers the result as a download. Every one of those steps happens on your device.

• We do not operate an upload endpoint for image data.
• We do not store your images, thumbnails, or any derivative of them.
• We do not read your filenames, dimensions, or embedded metadata.
• Closing or refreshing the tab discards everything the converter was holding.

You can verify this: open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab, and convert a file. No request carrying your image will appear.

3. Information we do process

Contact form

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address and message you provide. We use them solely to reply, and retain them only as long as needed for that correspondence. The form cannot accept file attachments.

Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to count page views and see which conversion pages are useful. Where used, this collects no personally identifying information, sets no cross-site tracking identifier, and never has access to the contents of your files. If a consent banner is shown, declining it disables non-essential analytics.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — for security and abuse prevention. These are logs of page requests, not of conversions, and contain nothing about your images.

Advertising

If advertising is displayed, ad providers may set their own cookies subject to your consent. They operate in a separate context from the converter and have no access to files you convert. See our Cookie Policy for the current list.

4. Local storage on your device

We store two small values in your browser’s local storage: your light/dark theme preference, and your cookie-consent choice. These never leave your device and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

5. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. In practice the only personal data we can hold is contact correspondence — email hello@webpconvert.cloud and we will action your request. We have nothing to delete regarding your images, because we never received them.

7. International users

Because conversion is local, no image data crosses any border. Contact correspondence is handled by our email provider, which may process it outside your country.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. The client-side processing commitment is fundamental to what this tool is; we do not intend to weaken it.
