NEF to JPG Converter – Free & Fast

NEF files are the RAW photos from Nikon cameras. They hold excellent detail, but your phone, your website and most photo viewers cannot open them. Use this NEF to JPG converter to turn Nikon RAW files into regular JPG pictures.

Convert NEF to JPG

Add your NEF files, check the settings and download them as JPG. Batch conversion, no sign-up and no watermark.

What is a NEF file?

NEF stands for Nikon Electronic Format. It stores unprocessed sensor data from Nikon DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, which gives you flexibility to adjust exposure, white balance and shadows after the shot. It is a proprietary format, so support outside Nikon tools and RAW editors is limited.

Convert NEF to JPG

  1. Add your NEF files with drag and drop or “Choose files”.
  2. Keep JPG selected under “Convert to”.
  3. Set “Quality” near 90 and “Max width (optional)” if you need smaller files.
  4. Wait for the server to process, then download the JPG.

Server-based processing

NEF files are converted on the server. Your file is uploaded, converted and deleted immediately after conversion. NEF files are large, so the upload takes longer than a normal photo.

Expect neutral results

The conversion uses default processing, so the image may look flatter than your camera preview or your Nikon Picture Control look. If you want that look, process the NEF in a RAW editor. Use this converter when you simply need a quick, shareable copy.

Tips for Nikon shooters

  • Shoot RAW plus JPG if you often need quick copies.
  • Keep every NEF as your negative.
  • Test one file before converting a whole shoot.
  • Resize for the web with “Max width (optional)”.
