What you get from a PSD
A PSD file holds layers, masks, text and effects. This tool does not keep those separate. It exports the merged (flattened) image, which is what you would see when the design is finished. If you need individual layers, you need Photoshop or a compatible editor.

Transparent PSD files
Many PSDs have transparent backgrounds. JPG cannot store transparency, so those areas are filled with the color you choose. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG with PSD to PNG.
